Non American Carmakers to Ship More Cars Made in USA



2013 will mark Hondas' one millionth automobile made in USA for export. It would also be the year were the Japanese carmaker will become a net U.S exporter of cars, that is, the number of units exported and made in USA will be higher than the cars Honda imports from Japan to the American market.

For foreign and domestic automakers, United States has become a very attractive market to build cars for other markets. Advantages like free trade pacts, currency rates (which make labor cheaper), and high quality  plan capacities. The number of total cars exported and made in  USA can grow to 15 million by 2015 according to industry reports. The most active buyers are Canada, Latin America, China and the Middle East.

Currently BMW is the biggest exported of cars made in USA with 210.00 units which accounts for about 70% of its yearly production.

Honda has exported near $22 billion since it started production in the U.S over 30 years ago. In the last 2 years Honda has made investment to its production plans in the U.S for over 2 billion. This investments are expected to boots its production to 1.9 million units by 2014.
